Its home is the north-east Indian state of Assam, known as tea growing, and the neighboring states of Nagaland and Manipur. With more than 1 million Scoville units, Bhut Jolokia replaced Red Savina as a Guinness sharpener in 2006. The elongated, tapering bifid fruits have a diameter of 25 to 30 mm, a length of 5 to 8.5 cm and mature from green to orange to red. As for C. chinense typically grow several fruits per node.
